What to Expect
The Refuge is a Christ-centered ministry, so time here will be filled with hearing God’s Word, worshipping him through song, and praying. Marriage Encounters include 3 couples (plus leaders) and are based on an experiential learning model which takes place in a group setting. Included will be one hour of individual couple’s counseling to cover the Pre-Assessment.
Each day will be a different focus with each one building upon the day before. The key for your growth during the weekend will be your transparency. With all of our sessions being in a group setting, we know that can be intimidating. However, the more open that you are, the more healing your marriage will experience. Your marriage is worth it.

The purpose of the Refuge is to be a place where broken marriages can come and be healed.
Specifics
Schedule
The Refuge Marriage Encounter is 4 nights and 4 full days. It begins with check-in at 5:00pm on Wednesday and check-out at 4:00pm on Sunday. The reason we start on Wednesday evening is two-fold. This allows time for couples to check-in and get settled. It also provides time for an important meet and greet and discussion about what the process will be for the next four days.
Pre-Assessment
As a part of each Marriage Encounter, couples are asked to fill out a Prepare/Enrich Pre-Assessment. Once you register to attend one of the retreats, we will then email you a link. The Pre-Assessment must be filled out prior to the start of the retreat, and results will be sent to us to discuss with you when you arrive.
Cost
The cost of the Marriage Encounter is $2,999 a couple. It includes:
- Five Days of Group Counseling w/One 1-on-1 Session
- Four Nights of Housing
- 12 Meals, Snacks and Coffee per Person
- Cost of Pre-Assessment
